Why do I make my own lip balm? Well, if you are like me, lip balm is something of an obsession. Over the years, I’ve become less and less satisfied with what the commercial companies were offering; I haven’t been able to pinpoint exactly what it is, but I always felt as if my lips were actually dehydrating while wearing their products. This of course, made me feel like I must apply more – but it didn’t help. So I popped open the balm and added more. A vicious cycle, one which wouldn’t surprise me if it were exactly what was intended. And this – this is what began my trek down the lane of creating my own lip balm.
It’s been interesting. It’s been fun. It’s been one heck of a learning experience. I’ve spent a lot of time in my kitchen putzing with different mixes of oils and beeswax and flavors and sweeteners. I’ve spent a lot of time and effort getting everything sorted so that I can do this; not only for me – but for you too. As I stand now, I have to admit that I am pleased with my efforts and with my results. I hope you will be too.
One of my favorite parts about this whole shindig is the fact that I get to come up with some unique and interesting flavor combinations. Combinations you won’t find in stores, ones that make you perk your brow as a huge grin slides across your lips with the tube itself and think “Oh yeah, this is amazing.”
